ARCH Metropolitan Health

The La Trobe Academic and Research Collaborative in Health (ARCH) strengthens collaboration and integration with eight key clinical partners across a wide metropolitan footprint of health and community services.

Our network of co-located Departments across Melbourne make a difference to the lives of millions of Australians. Between them they have decades of collective experience in addressing important clinical and public health questions through the conduct of innovative and world-class competitively funded research that ultimately delivers healthcare benefits and improved outcomes in the communities in which they serve. The presence of ARCH Chairs within these organizations, together with their active research profiles, means they are an important conduit for engaging and implementing new research endevours.

Current metropolitan partners include:

  1. Alfred Health
  2. Austin Health
  3. Eastern Health
  4. Healthscope
  5. Mercy Health
  6. Northern Hospital
  7. Melbourne Health
  8. Royal Women’s Hospital

Each of these sites contains smaller and larger agencies grouped together by location, and roughly defining a catchment area for ARCH activities and student placements.

We have special expertise in health care systems, health care delivery, implementation science and translational research in nursing, midwifery, allied and public health
