ARCH Chairs

The ARCH initiative's central stength lies in the ARCH Chairs that are intrinsically connected to our Health Partners. If you have any research ideas that you want to initiate the first resource you can use are the ARCH Chairs themselves so please make contact. In addition to the ARCH Chairs, you also have La Trobe's world class research infrastructure at your disposal in particularly the La Trobe University Research Office which is detailed below.

 

The La Trobe University Research Office

The La Trobe University Research Office delivers professional research support services with functions spanning grants, contracts and consulting, ethics, integrity and biosafety, research performance and research impact.

The Research Office partners with La Trobe University researchers, senior executive academic leadership, the Graduate Research School, the two Colleges, Central & Support Services as well as external stakeholders to facilitate excellent research outcomes for the University. Through a team of qualified specialists, the Research Office provides accurate and consistent advice and reporting, as well as flexible and efficient client services, with an emphasis on continuous business improvement.

Grants

The Grants team oversees the administration of all competitive research grant funding, including ARC, NHMRC, philanthropic, international and other schemes. The team works with researchers across all campuses of the University to develop, manage and coordinate the submission of research grant applications and provides substantial advice and assistance with accepting and establishing successful external grants at La Trobe University.

Consulting and contracts

The Consulting and Contracts team supports the administration, review and negotiation of Research Contracts, University Services Consulting Contracts, La Trobe Consulting Contracts and the development of Tender Proposals.

Ethics, Biosafety and Integrity

The Ethics and Integrity team support responsible conduct of research. Depending on the type of research you are doing, ethics or biosafety approvals may also be required. The team will be able to support research integrity, animal and human research ethics, gene technology dealings, biosafety, research governance and management of clinical trial research agreements.

Research Impact

The Research Impact team works with researchers, schools and departments to deliver strategic development to ensure La Trobe research contributes to positive change in the world outside academia. The team supports researchers in identifying, tracking and documenting the impact of their research as well as managing the University’s submission to the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) Engagement and Impact Assessment.
